Haven't heard that. To be honest...Ron's been 'off' since well quite a few years now...

Weird, 'cos Trump beat Williams yesterday, ran O'Sullivan very very close in the COC and UK, and gave Higgins the fright of his life in the World final. And he was a lesser player then than he is these days.

Your astute observations are rather contradicted by the fact that you put a bet on a player and then spend the rest of the time telling everyone how useless they are - during the Masters you were telling us Ronnie didn't know how to matchplay.

Selby's performance in the 2014 final was less impressive than his performance in the 2007 WC, when I thought he played a more positive game, even though he lost.

And no, Trump may never be as good as ROS, Higgins, or MJW, but then barely anyone is. He can certainly achieve Selby's level, as he's showing greatly improved tactical nous and real fighting spirit. It wasn't until Reardon came along that Ronnie started playing a truly all-round game, so Trump has plenty of time.

dude this should be Trump's prime in terms of age and the number of years he has been around ..... of course he can beat 40 year olds in nervy deciders counting on luck ... but the guys I am mentioning used to do much more before turning 20 ..... Trump is good but not worth all the hype .... I think Ding is a more talented player than Trump for example ... but he is a loser as well ... I am sure you will now tell me that he won 5 majors last year .. go on!

You think Ding is more talented than Trump, yet I say Ding is a prime example of being overrated - he was going to be this new Ronnie O'Sullivan, casting all before him and leading the Chinese domination of snooker. How's that going so far?

Trump merely took a long time to break through, but since he won the China Open he's never looked back.

So what's the benchmark? Wins before the age of 20? Total wins? Style of wins? Earlier you said Walden was better when he's "on" but Walden has won what, 3 of the lesser events, all in China? Trump's won those PLUS the UK and some minor events.

Not living up to expectations is not the same as being rubbish, or else there's never been a good player in the game.

On natural talent and ability, Ding is a better player than Trump but I already said he is a loser ..... what I am trying to say that if I have to chose 5 player to win a frame if my life was on line .. I won't choose Trump .... if you remember Ryan Day of 5-7 years back ... he was as good a potter as Trump if not better but this game is about much more than the ability to pot. Watching Selby or Higgins of few years back was a treat at a different level .... Trump fluking around does not even get close .... having said that I am a fan of his flamboyant style at times but he has too much to learn and I doubt he has enough time left ... he keeps on missing sitters and when you do that you don't beat a real top player

                          • Ronnie is on it tonight.

Bingham just threw his only chance away imo.

                            Trump.vs O'sullivan final.tomorrow, part three this season.

                            Let's hope for a 9-9 scoreline again.

                              • Bingham is certainly struggling and he hasnt been
sharp since frame 1 when he was amongst the balls
and missed that very simple black off the spot.
Its too bad. O'Sullivan doesnt appear to be in very
good humour as can happen with him.
