  • Nice to see Trump finally win, though I'd have preferred another O'Sullivan victory. Maybe this will leave Ronnie with something to prove again and we'll see a resurgence? Either way, not a bad season really - he talked about decline the other day, but he's had very little match practice and thrashed Bingham, so he's still up there.

Trump seems to like China, so maybe he'll pick up another trophy there and who knows? He's certainly got a World Championship in him, just needs to fine-tune his game a bit.

    • Now this is what the BBC should do. Some unbiased commentary after every match especially after when the tournament is over.

                  • Nowhere near midnight unfortunately, but still a very enjoyable evening of snooker. It reminded me of the German Masters final a lot, both players making some mistakes, but the tension was great in the end.

Trump said it all really, he once again came out all nervous and went behind early on, but this time the momentum shifted early enough for him. Before this win he had a title and two finals, which was quite disappointing considering how well he's played for most of the season, but two titles looks much better, and it surely puts him among the favourites for the World title next month.

As for O'Sullivan... We've seen it many times in finals, a player has a chance to take a big lead in the afternoon, wastes it, and suddenly it's a different story in the evening. As I said this morning, there weren't really any signs of great form from O'Sullivan, so I'm not surprised he struggled a little. The standard he produced today was enough to win him the UK title, but it's not Sunday every day.

For me this was an enjoyable tournament, the format wasn't too bad once we got to the semi-finals. The playing conditions also seemed to be pretty good, not a lot of kicks or big bounces, and the table was certainly less generous than some of the previous tournaments. The standard could have been better, but I guess you can't have everything.

The PTC Finals is not my favourite tournament, as you can imagine, but I'm looking forward to the China Open now.

I've enjoyed ITVs coverage, very clean production and few replays, unlike the beeb who replay every other shot.
There were a few too many one-sided matches for me, but I suppose that's expected with the shorter format.
Good to see Judd winning and with some very good tactical play as well, but I do think Ronnie let him off the hook somewhat tonight. Thanks Ron.

                          The fast and the furious,
                          The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

                          • Nice to see Judd win, Ronnies going to have to get some serious practice in before the Worlds because he was well below par all week, he was moving a hell of a lot before he delivered the cue as well which was a bit strange as he normally has perfect technique.
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

                              • Anyone have a run down of the match? Like the turning points in the game and the best frames to watch? I want to watch a few of the better frames on Youtube tonight.

I did not see a thing as the Night session kicked off right when i was starting work here in Australia at 7am.... Grrrrrr

Was checking scores on my phone in the morning and ROS was 7-4 up if i remember correctly and when i checked again it was JT in front and then he won!
If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???
