Don't know about anyone else, but I just sense the BBC have devoted a little more time and priority to the WC this year. It's back on from 7, right through to 11 this evening. In the past, we were lucky if we got even an hour of the evening session."Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

Is this a case of every player Bingham has faced his opponent peaked the round before and had nothing left against him? Ronnie peaked against Stevens and played well in the 2nd session, never got going against Bingham. Dott played well first round, didn't show up against Bingham. Trump was the player of the quarter final, didn't show up in the semi. Now Murphy, the player of the semi, suddenly struggling.
I believe that fate often throws up these unexpected players reaching a final or winning and I don't know. Bingham must feel like he's won the lottery the fact that every player has crumbled against him. He's not even having to do much, other than capitalise on his opponents mistakes. He's rarely potting the first red and clearing up in any of his matches. Wish I'd put money on him now.
