I'm not so sure about that. In a match I've never known luck to be even. Bingham going by his name ballrun didn't get that because he doesn't have more run than most. In fact as nicknames go its probably one of the worst, as if the player is only renowned for being lucky as to why he manages any success.

    • Murphy really should have played a better snooker tight behind the black there...

        Exactly. Great first session.

        • I'm not getting into this silly discussion...luck is part of the game...period! Get over it and enjoy the match

4-4 is a great result for Bingsy from 3-0 behind. Fantastic result for everyone, as we still have a close match :snooker:

When Shaun is getting lucky people cry and post about his usual run of the balls...when Bingham has the luck...oh well, no problem, surely the luck eill even itself....crap stuff.

            • Don't know about anyone else, but I just sense the BBC have devoted a little more time and priority to the WC this year. It's back on from 7, right through to 11 this evening. In the past, we were lucky if we got even an hour of the evening session.

              • Is this a case of every player Bingham has faced his opponent peaked the round before and had nothing left against him? Ronnie peaked against Stevens and played well in the 2nd session, never got going against Bingham. Dott played well first round, didn't show up against Bingham. Trump was the player of the quarter final, didn't show up in the semi. Now Murphy, the player of the semi, suddenly struggling.

I believe that fate often throws up these unexpected players reaching a final or winning and I don't know. Bingham must feel like he's won the lottery the fact that every player has crumbled against him. He's not even having to do much, other than capitalise on his opponents mistakes. He's rarely potting the first red and clearing up in any of his matches. Wish I'd put money on him now.

                • murphy hasn't put enough concentration into his shots when the balls have gotten scrappy, whilst his long game has gone a little..could be in a for a long final

They say the same about Trump, unfortunately some people prefer underdogs or match type players like Selby, Bingham and never appreciate the run these guys get.

As far back as I can remember, even before the red button, the BBC has always shown every single frame of the world champs final on BBC2, I have no idea what you're talking about.

If that's the case, then I think my mind must be going home. I'm getting on a bit now.

                          • Nice opening session, fairly open and fluent, as expected, and Bingham did very well after going behind early. The second session has been a crucial one quite a few times in the past, so I'm looking forward to tonight.

Oh, and that's a bad miss.
