Another good night of snooker, hopefully we get a midnight finish every night.
Maguire has now lost in the 1st round of the World Championship for three years in a row, 10-9 every time. Last year he started playing really well from 9-6 down but didn't really get a proper chance in the decider, and tonight was an almost identical story. Maybe next year he can start playing when the score is 0-0. I think the last frame of the first session was a big one, when Maguire was already past snookers required and McGill fluked a nasty snooker. That was to go 6-3 ahead instead of 5-4. And there was another similar frame tonight, when Maguire was 29 ahead on the last red, but he played an awful safety which allowed McGill to clear the table. It could have been a different story...
Great stuff from McGill in the last frame, he looked under pressure towards the end of the match, but he kept his composure in the decider. I think he won the decider of his final qualifying match with a century as well.

But yes, this was only the third Crucible decider to contain a century. Griffiths knocked Alex Higgins out 13-12 in the first round in 1979 with a century, and Ebdon beat Jimmy White in the second round, 13-12 with a century.
