Well one of those two is definitely not going to win it this year

Hold on, that doesn't make sense, does it? That would still be true whether they were playing one another or not :stung:

        • Now let's see Dott make a comeback here from 4-8 behind Cmon Dottie!

              • What a performance from McGill, quite something. I've never seen a debutant look more at home at the Crucible, and playing the world champ and world No.1 as though he was playing a mate down the club. Very well done indeed, I really hope he can keep it up. Just 3 more matches to the title, that's all.

                  • Congrats McGill. Everyone loves an underdog. Keep it going.
The bitter taste of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

                    • Dott (5-10) needs a few frames to get back in this.

Ding needs to keep winning (9-7) vs Higgins.
Allen 5-3 vs Hawkins looks like a close one.

Carter vs Robertson and Stevens vs O'Sullivan
                      tomorrow as well sounds good.

                      • I'm so happy with Anthony's win! This so well deserve for someone who has great talent and an even better attitude.
I've been following him for a couple of years now, exchanging even few words sometimes on Facebook or Twitter and he has always been nice enough to answer. He's such a nice lad! It's very refreshing to see him performing under the utmost pressure in the game. McManus has been full of praises for years about him but he was so right. Ants has a wonderful attitude and composure when playing. His positive thinking could take him very far.

                        • A very enjoyable match, some quality snooker in all three sessions. Selby tried his best to put McGill under pressure tonight, but McGill didn't show any nerves at all. It's hard to believe this is the same player who let O'Sullivan off the hook in the UK Championship, and only a few weeks ago missed a sitter in the decider against Murphy in the China Open. He seems incredibly relaxed and confident this week, kind of like Murphy in 2005, and if he plays like this he can hold his own against anyone.

A fairly early exit for Selby then, but he lost against a great performance, so he shouldn't be too disappointed. All in all it was a pretty good season for him, winning two major titles, and I am sure he will come back strongly.

                          • Selby out and hopefully Dott joining him soon would make it an enjoyable second week for me so I'm very happy tonight.
Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.

                            • That yellow in the middle from McGill underlined for me, the merit of attacking snooker, and I am glad he was able to go on and close it out. McGill has that history in the making sort of quality about him.

                              • Question: Is Selby the most hated world champion since Dott in 2006? Perhaps moreso because he beat Ronnie?

Personally, I don't mind if Selby comes again and wins another world title, though I'm not a fan. I just didn't want him to be the one to break the Crucible curse.
