Very enjoyable match. Amazing to see how pressure can destroy a pro game even when they are 4-0 up. Selt fell apart and Robot-son hung in there doing nothing special but playing very gritty match snooker. Glad Selt won in the end but he must have missed half a dozen match balls, his long potting in particular had gone. If he hadn't gone mega tentative he would probably have won 5-1 or 5-2. He seemed to be trying to roll everything in dead weight. Crazy.

Robertson has an early exit which is unfortunate as
he is such an exciting player to watch most matches.
He was down 4-0 but did force a decider which was
close but he lost it in the colours.
Some good matches coming up tho with Trump and
      Murphy hopefully advancing.

I've just finished with the Robertson match, good stuff in the last two frames, a good old scrap on the colours.

Well done to Selt for hanging on and getting over the line in the end, although Robertson should have really cleared the table after Selt had left him so easy on the green. Mark Joyce took out Allen as well in that part of the draw, so Selt now has a great chance to reach his third quarter-final in three appearances in Australia.

Robertson out first round lost 5-4 to Matthew Selt, it seams that the host players who play in their own Country snooker events always seam to lose in the early rounds, must be the pressure of playing on home soil.

Robertson used to be so good in final frame deciders. Don't know what's gone wrong this year - German Masters, Grand Prix, China Open, World Championships and now Australia - 5 of the last 7 tournaments, beaten in a deciding frame. Can't remember the last time he won one.

              It's clearly in his head.

I was surprised to see Murphy defeated as well
as Davis. Trump wins his match so he will play
the winner of the Maguire/Walden match I believe.
The next round should be very interesting.
Trump and White look like favourites along with
                Selby.

A high break of 55 for Robbo says it all really
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

It's all that practice Selt has amongst the true cueists of the area

Classic opening tournament of the season then, lots of surprises and only 9 of the 16 seeds through to the 2nd round.

Murphy-Carter was pretty enjoyable, but Carter really should have won the match earlier. He had a couple of lapses of concentration in the balls at crucial times, but was lucky that Murphy missed that sitter early on in the decider, because he would have had the chance to take it in one visit.

I only saw the Eurosport highlights of Fu-Gould, and it was a pretty similar story, with Fu missing a sitter to the middle with all the reds spread in the decider. Didn't get another chance after that...

Easy win for Trump in the evening session, although he too gave away a couple of chances that could have led to a closer match. I have to say it was a pretty stupid decision to televise this match in the first place though, instead of Walden-Maguire, but I am not surprised in the least.

I watched Trump vs Burns this evening. I taped it.

The commentators were making out that Trump was favourite. Which is a big claim with Selby still in the tournament.

Trump would be the favourite based on how well
he has played lately I would think.
The matchups coming up arent the players I expected
would be still playing but that is snooker.
I can see Selby, Perry, Gould, Higgins, Joyce and
White advancing but will wait and see. Hopefully
                          some good and close matches.

Don't think Selby could have possibly played worse than this today

A touch off topic but just noticed earlier Mark King has tattoos on both hands - Wonder if he has gone all "Beckham" with a full arm sleeve tatt ?

Probably just going to catch the highlights on Eurosport tonight.
