I think Robertson sucked the life out of the match. It might win him finals to play like that but it looses him fans. When he first came on the scene he potted everything and attacked the game wining all them events it was great to watch now he has turned into some robot walking around the table checking everything playing safe safe safe zzzzzzzzzz - I don't actually like watching him anymore.
He made over a hundred of tons in a season not long back - half way through the season now and I bet he has not made 10.

Poor tournament, poor final. The only highlight being the performances of the two young Chinese guys. The right man won but that doesn't mean it was good for snooker. Robertson is a boring player, true, but so are many others. His safety play, not his long potting, won him the match.

I'm left scratching my head at some of the responses to this match.
I don't think it was that bad a final at all. 15 frames played, 10 of which had breaks over 50 including 3 century+ breaks and some very interesting and tense tactical battles. Yes it went a bit pear shaped toward the end, but that's because, understandably, the tension got to both players, they were after all playing for £100,000 in front of millions of viewers, not a few pints down your local club. It happens.
It was an entertaining final for me, just wish it had gone all the way. But hay-ho, each to their own.

Maybe this says more about the expectations of the younger generation than the current state of the game.

I quite enjoyed being in Coventry and watching both semis, and the final.
Yes it wasn't always of the highest standard, especially from the Robbo vs Perry semi. But some of the misses added tension.
The Robbo / Perry match being the best example of what I mean. A pretty low standard from both men, but you never knew quite who was going to win. When Robbo got that 145 in frame 4, I thought; "Right, he's going to pull away." Perry won the next frame. When Perry was ahead in frame 6, only for it to go down to the black and Robbo made it 4-2 instead of 3-3, I thought that was another turning point. Perry made it 4-4. It was a hard match to predict.
I thought Robbo actually outplayed Allen in the final, despite being convinced Mark Allen would slaughter him. And the only frame that I'd call boring was the 50-odd minute one, and even then when Robbo took it, it felt like a big moment as it won him his ninth frame.
I enjoyed it, even if it wasn't the same sort of match or standard that Ronnie and Judd provided last year.

I am subscribed to both the Eurosportplayer and the Worldsnooker livestream, but both do not show any of the matches.
And ITV is only for UK residents?
Anybody with an indea how to follow the matches from Germany?
Thanks in advance!
