I was very surprised by Tom's comments about Wembo being boring. I suppose he's very frustrated about not getting to the last 8 after being 5 - 3 up. I think the conversation would have been different if he'd got through?

Then he would have been up to about 65 points and within striking distance of taking the frame.

Or maybe my eyes are just deceiving me (must admit I wasn't really looking closely) - any way of getting to see a rerun of this frame and particularly this part?

The red he played was one of the three he could have, but he was guaranteed position on black had he pot it, whilst remaining two balls were of same difficulty with less sure position on colour after that. He had not played the best positional shot before. If you look closely, he also took some time to decide which one to play, but in my eyes, the one he played was the right one.

Quite enjoyable matches yesterday evening, missed afternoon due to stupid work :-(
Burnett's feathering is kinda unusual, many fast swings before delivery, but he is good to watch. Higgins had 6 50+ breaks in that match, so I think it was fine display from him, even if he looked out of sorts for a while.

For me, main match was Gould vs Swail, as I like these both. Nice match also, Martin is very fluent when he gets going, Joe is also great player.

Looking forward for today's matches, I have checked Eurosport schedule and guess what? No live broadcast for evening matches ....

FFS ! here's me searching through the 9th frame, when it was the 10th frame it happened. .

Nothing in it for me, both hard shots.

Fast forward to 3 hours 8 minutes for the choices he had. .

            • Maybe it's just me...but I find it hard to watch Jamie Burnett. His feathering technique really upsets me.....he seems to go mad feathering, and it bear no relation to the shot he's about to play...and then 'decelerate' into the actual shot. He obviously hits it better than me, but if I feathered like that I'd drive myself mad.

              • Have to agree . How many times does he feather using the rest ! No wonder he misses with it ......2 shots in a row with the rest yesterday . Didn't really threaten the pocket .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

Kyren Wilson is even worse with decelerating, it really hurts my eyes, can't watch him

Yes, you're right of course about the 10th frame - as I said I wasn't watching too closely ....!

                    • Just listening to DT in the pre-match chat with Davis, has he had a stroke or something? Maybe it's a new set of knashers that don't fit properly, but he seems to have developed a rather pronounced lisp that I've never noticed before. Definitely something odd about his speech

Yeah, skiing tournaments are of course more important .... At least it's on this afternoon though!

Yeah I find him watchable too, just concerned that he will do his neck in one day as he has like a ritual before most of his shots, sort of moving it to the side.
I noticed a few nights ago that he has changed his address ritual and does not move his head as much as he used to. As you say, I also worried that he would do damage to his neck seriously one day if he continued doing it

                              • Can't believe they're doubting Neil played that swerve escape on the blue. Why do they think he played it as hard as he did?

That escape was played exactly as intended.
