  • Chapeau Mark Selby.

Never in front and didn't play even close to his best snooker, but still found a way to win 6-5.
Along with Stephen Hendry and John Higgins he is probably the mentally strongest player I've seen.

Jamie left himself cueing between 2 reds going for another red. Rattled the red.
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
            I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

              • I do feel for Jamie, he must be emotionally concussed after repeatedly banging his head against solid granite.
To play so well and loose to someone playing so poorly must be tough. Incredible match though, thanks lads.

                The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

                • Yeah he looked like he was close to tears at the end of frame 8. Still, well done to both players for a memorable match.

                  • Well said, deffinately a memorable and great match. I think I want to watch this without the commentators comments. I am sure they have thrown me off my own thoughts more than once and were not always online with what was going on. My thoughts only, Selby as got allot of bottle and experience to keep his head and do his job, win..... any way he can.... great game, good experience for Jamie, he had his chances, thats all I got to say about that......
I try hard, play hard and dont always succeed, at first.!!!!:snooker:

                    • That's what it's all about, a close dramatic match and a midnight finish. Or in my case, a 3am finish, since I watched it delayed.

Selby's determination is just crazy, to win that 8th frame after he needed snookers twice took some doing. Best frame of the tournament so far, and it will take something special to beat it.

Apart from the usual back-to-the-wall heroics, Selby didn't play all that well and missed a few easy balls. Luckily his draw is fairly easy now until at least the semi-finals, so he has a bit of time to sharpen up...

                      • I think the match I would like to see the most tomorrow is Gilbert and Fu. Will be watching Gould, I hope he is in form, he is a pleasure to watch....

                        • I don't think anythings going to match what happened tonight, is there a chance of a Trump vs Selby final? I would like that, breakbuilding fluency up against tactical mastery and determination.

Michael White easy the better of the 2. The way Jones cues up is asking for alignment issues when struggling. Michael White better technique and more nautral player.

                              • MS actually enjoys these frames, you can see it in his face. His touch to get those snookers is brilliant. JJ still had his chances to put it to bed though.

ROS must be so pleased for Mark
