  • I think Trumps problems are basically in his mind. For one he doesn't seem mentally very strong and on the other side his tactical game, his shot selection, his choices of when to go for it and when to play safe is not the best. His safety play isn't elite either.

yeah, poor safety shot. The shot he had to play because of the result of previous shot which was also a poor positional shot on green.
it's realy unbelievable, what pressure can do in this game !!

That shows how badly I read it! I didn't realise he was left handed so that explains why he didn't get out the rest on the pink but he should have still come down more so the pot on the black would have been in his eye line at least.

The 14th black and 15th red were amazing. He deserved to get that 147.

Just watched it on YouTube. +1 to that. Such a nice fluent break and his cue action is so natural. What a shame.

Shame that, really like Un-Nooh too.

                          • Look at scores in his match, in those last six frames Joyce only really scored in one of them. 2,9,9,0,64,0.

Jack must have done a number on him, bigger comeback then Wenbo.

If anyone did a bet on those two at 4-1 and 5-0 must have raked it in.

Circus act indeed - and playing the Jester next - that will probably be billed in the comedy listings!

                              • Another good day of snooker at the UK Championship.

I enjoyed Gould's performance in the afternoon, could be a big win at the right time for him, as he now finds himself as arguably the favourite in the top quarter. That said, the other three players will surely fancy their chances as well now, with Bingham, Ding and Allen all gone.

Murphy's match was alright as well, particularly the frame where he needed three snookers and forced Woollaston to foul four times.

Trump-Liang was a great match for the most part, it's just a shame it ended on such a low note, with both players clearly under pressure and wasting several easy chances. Liang seems to be a slow starter in these best-of-11 matches, but once he finds his rhythm he is very capable of getting back into the match, like against Murphy in the German Masters last season, or against O'Sullivan in the 2013 International Championship. Tonight's comeback had more to do with Trump's game falling apart though...

Terrible night for Un-Nooh, missing two easy blacks off the spot at crucial times, one for a maximum and the other to stay in the match at 5-3. I bet he won't sleep easy tonight.

Hm... It was the other way around, wasn't it?

I think Trump led something like 2-1 early on, but Bingham was basically in front for the rest of the match. It was 5-3, 9-7 and 13-11 in Bingham's favour at the end of the first three sessions, then Trump played a strong final session to finally level the score at 16-16, before Bingham held on to win the decider.
