  • Fantastic break. He didn't panic for a second, even when that final split went slightly wrong. Nice final black as well, a tricky little shot under pressure.

    • Do maxies bring tears to anyone else's eyes, or am I just a wuss?

It's the roar from the crowd when the final black drops more than anything.

        • Fantastic as you say. Would like to see Wenbo keep a hold of Robbo's shirt tails and set up the final session for tonight.

I was wiping my screen like a mad man. It wasn't until the ref stepped in front of it and it disappeared that I realised it wasn't on my tv or their cameras. It's weird, as it looks too illuminated to be a speck... if that makes sense.

And the more I think about it, the odder it gets, because why hasn't it been wiped off when a player leans across it?

            • Yes hoping Liang can keep up with Neil throughout the rest of the Finale right up until the very last frame...and black ball :snooker:

Gotta love Liang for his heartfelt enthousiasm...I just love watching him, what a great lad.

And yes the speck...still driving me half mad. I think it's a chip of the wood. Definitely not something possible to wipe off, otherwise Jan V would have been on the case already

I love his interviews. His broken English is very endearing.

yep probably a dent in the rail that is reflecting the lights

It is indeed. He also said his coach tells him to enjoy the snooker more, be more in the moment. Apparently he is very focused on winning...so who's his coach...Stephen Hendry?

Yes that seems right...the reflection of the light that makes it more visible for us tv viewers. Hadn't thought about that.

                        • That was a nice session of snooker, high quality throughout. It still seems that Robertson might be too strong in the evening, but Liang is doing a decent job of holding his own at the moment.

His coach and manager is Django Fung (not sure if it's the correct spelling). He also manages Trump and Robertson.

                            • Very good match so far, it was a bit scrappy at start, but it is turning in to classic match.
Awesome maximum from Robertson, who I think will lift the trophy in the end.

I was being ironical, but cheers any way for the info. I heard Hendry say in commentary both Robbo and Liang have the same coach so he must be the calmest person in the auditorium

And yes...a very enjoyable first session indeed. Perfect imo. More of the same please boys...oh and kindly switch the nr of won frames around while you're at it
