I was just poking a little fun at the timing of your post, but thinking about it, they've both made 3 centuries in this tournament, same as Ron, Robbo's made a century of centuries in one season and is something like 440 atm, that's more than half way to Ronnie's total and Ron's got a 6 year start on him. Judd's 370ish and Ron's got 12-13 years head start on him. Higgins has the same lead, time-wise and is at 600ish. So not really a completely different level is it? Mind you, it would be interesting to see the overall 50+ and 70+ stats for them.

Hard to compare Ronnie's whole career to these 2, as there are a lot more competitions now, so still have to go on century:frame ratio, which i think Ronnie around 11? Not entirely sure what Trump/Robertson are on, but I think only Ding has a better ratio than Ronnie, although after the last 2 seasons I'm not entirely sure now.

Even more interesting is looking at 50-90 breaks and Ronnie is like 1 every 2 frames I believe.

surveys shows the percentage of MALE population that are left varies from 11%-15% (depending on where you look), so the proportion in the Masters is very much above average

the current pro listing of 128 is r107 l21 (16.4%) so not much more than percentage for population

Thanks Dean for the statistics. I am also interested in this stuff.
I just highly doubt that Trump, Allen and Hawkins are really lefties or just playing with left hand (they use rests as right-handers). I am sure about Williams and Robertson to be LH, and quite sure about Liang also.

Anyway, I am stuck in the work unfortunately, so I only caught few evening matches this week and not of the highest quality, so bit disapointed this year. But I will see during the weekend if it gets better, I hope so!

But i think these guys are getting their centuries because of their remarkable potting rather than precision. They play 2 or 3 bail out pots per break whereas ronnie wouldn't have left himself in that position in the first place. Cue ball control wise I think ronnie is in a different league

I.e how many times has robertson been slightly out of position this match only to recover with a tough pot? But is still knocking in centuries and playing superbly well
