Personal opinion incoming that might upset Ronnie fans:
Ronnie is undoubtedly the greatest natural talent the game has ever seen, but for me he makes tournaments less interesting and as a television viewer I would rather he just stayed at home (arena viewer it's a different matter entirely). When Ronnie is playing usually one of 2 things will happen. 1) He will play unbelievable well and blow his opponent away or 2) he will play average but his opponent will be so overawed by the occasion that they will be incredibly wobbly and get decimated anyway just like this final). Of course there are exceptions but this makes most Ronnie matches very boring and predictable if you ask me, you can usually tell how the match is going to go after the first few frames.
I suppose Bingo had no chance against him en route to winning the world title. Selby had no chance of winning against him in the Masters, he's never done that before! lol
The Masters is an invitational non-ranking event, so I presume the money earned does not count towards the ranking prize money list?
No it doesn't. But this whole money list is bull. Bingo is still no.2 in the world cuz the World paid so much, rankings don't say a lot about other tournaments or give those winners the credit they deserve. The old points system was much better and fairer.
Well, that wasn't great stuff tonight, let's be honest. Hawkins said he would enjoy this match whatever happened, but he can't possibly have enjoyed playing like that, and he had chance after chance... It's the third time this has happened to him in a big match in the last two years, after losing the 2014 WC semi-final with a session to spare, and almost doing the same the following year. It's not great entertainment, so hopefully he can play better the next time he finds himself in this position.
All in all, it was a really good tournament during the week, but tournaments are inevitably judged by what happens over the weekend, and this one had a fairly disappointing finish. Well done to O'Sullivan for winning after such a long absence, his first major title in over a year. I had acquired him for my fantasy team prior to this tournament, and he always seems to repay me with a win when I do that. I wouldn't expect him to dominate for the rest of the season, since he has already failed to qualify for Germany and he is unlikely to travel to China, but he should be one of the favourites for the World title in April.
I suspect the German Masters will not be my favourite tournament this year, with so many top players failing to qualify, and Eurosport always seem to be determined to ruin it with dreadful coverage, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless.
Selby played very well in match against Walden, never seen him play that well, looked like walden was taken back as well because he looked to be meaning business but never got a peek. Selby as got a few buck backing him for the World from me. Very impressive match..... Best of the masters I think....
I try hard, play hard and dont always succeed, at first.!!!!:snooker:
It's a shame the Masters final turned out to be a damp squib in what was a good tournament. One of my lasting thoughts of the match will be the daft a*se with the green t-shirt wearing those big glasses and fake tash and the angry bloke at the end shouting Ronnie and punching his fist in the air. I think the fella thought he was at the boxing? Always a good atmosphere at the "Ally Pally", but a few demented souls!
John Lennon : Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans. :snooker:

You must have to wonder sometimes why snooker doesn't get the crowds, sponsorship, credibility all year round when people like yourself have a problem with someone enjoying themselves at a snooker event, whether that's wearing big glasses or an individual shouting at the end.
Ronnie made sure he went over and signed the fellas book and even had giggle to himself too, honestly I respect peoples opinions but me personally it was fantastic seeing that fella at the end.

There's passion and there's being an idiot. Which one was he?
