No doubt I'm old fashioned, having said that, I believe the pro's would play a better game SHAVEN, it's amazing to me that they would go on television unshaven. IMO it gives the sport a bad image, I would not leave the house without first having a shave.

Having a beard allows the cue to grip the chin more effectively. This increases friction and allows 'overstun' to be created when required.
