  • Say what you like about his demeanor or mental state but that was snooker from the gods. Truly exceptional play by ronnie. Someone questioned the size of his gonads earlier - WTF?

Now watch that mincing fanny Robertson bore him to death in the final.

What's with the BBC and the coverage? Is this only live at 7pm for the evening match on Eurosport? Maybe the red button? Their coverage only starts at 9.30pm? Wish they could just show the whole thing! I noticed too that Eurosport for the earlier rounds don't show you other matches when the main one finishes early, you should be able to just watch whichever one to a conclusion.

Hey ho, looking forward to seeing Michael White play, haven't watched him live before
The green and blue were simply taking the ****, especially the blue. That was a real statement of intent from Ronnie.

The black to win the third frame was one of the best balls I've ever seen potted to win a frame. Gigantic bollox.

Agreed, he looks like he's in the right frame of mind he needs to play well and not feel the pressure. Reeling off quick frames when the winning line is close enough to begin with suits his style

          • Ronnie's still the best. Watching him play at his best is mind boggling. It's amazing he's better than ever at 40 years old. I hope I can enjoy watching him play for many more years to come.

            • I think many people think when you hit 40 you go half blind and lose your legs, Phil Taylor in darts is back to his best and he's 56 this year.

Agreed. When I became interested in snooker there was this belief that pro snooker was for the under 30 crowd. I think it had more to do with the fact that we had two generations of players pushing the standard up that the preceding generation was no longer capable of competing at the highest levels consistently. Now, there aren't any players coming through that are pushing the limits of the game, so the top players seem to have more longevity.

So long as Ronnie's hands are steady, he can get down properly on the shot, and he is interested enough to play and practice, he should be fine.

Correction: one hundred boring tons in one season.

He's a tedious drama queen. "Oh look, he can pot the ball after all!"

                      • White doing his best impression of Stephen Maguire tonight. It's pretty poor to completely lose your mind because of one frame, especially when the score is only 2-0. He was never going to win another frame after that. Hopefully someone can give him a good slap in the interval, otherwise it will be a very short evening.

                        • Wonderful snooks by ROS. Practice game again in the arena. He also was trying for a max in a couple of frames and I really think he would have taken it this time to share Dings winnings, now that would provoke more gossip obviously. Still time for him to do it though.

                          Go Robbo!!..

                              • Wow...Ronnie destroyed Selby. I just got home and checked the score. The most bored player beat the most boring player by 5 frames to 1.... Nice.
