146 breaks are even more rare so it was kind of special and the history of it made it even more special. now they can talk about a maxi that never was one
Oh yeah like you would tell your mates...I was there when ROS made a 146! They will say...'so what, what's so special about a 146...you must be confused with a 147 which is a Maximum break in snooker...btw how long have you been a snooker fan?'
btw ronnie produced some fantastic breaks the last few months. the steals vs selby and bingo were sublime. it hasnt has to be a max to be remembered daffie. the 92 break in the 2012 WSC final. Do you remember? its the way how he does these breaks. no one does it quite like him.
I was actually defending Ronnie a bit, when he made the 146. They are a lot rarer than 147s. In a way, seeing a 146 is a bit of an "I was there" moment. (Though, this coming from somebody who has seen several 147s live.)
When he came out and made the "£10,000 isn't enough" comment, I found it harder to defend. There's a lot of people who work ******* hard in this country, and struggle to make ends meet. And Ronnie acts like £10k for a few minutes work is pittance.
I never saw it, but if he deliberately turned down a 147 he's a dick, he's not bothered about snooker and he's not bothered about the folk who have paid money to watch him, he's only bothered about himself, If the money's not enough or not important , do the 147 and give it to charity , and I'm a fan of Ronnies.
