Opening break of 110 from Ronnie was total boss! Much better than the 146 yesterday.

I think today has been an example of what the haters can't accept, if they're honest. They can criticise this man for all manner of things, but his prowess isn't one of them. His natural ability is nothing short of frightening, and those who dislike him for his antics find this fact hard to accept."Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

That was sublime.

I've enjoyed all three matches so far today.
A strong performance from O'Sullivan, surely one of the quickest best-of-7 wins. Four high breaks, and only really wasted one scoring chance all match. The graphics at the end were a little silly though, 100% long pot and safety success. Did I imagine the roll-up into the pack that left Tian a fairly easy red above the black?

So I imagine someone updates the stats manually after every shot, and they just make a common sense decision whether the safety was a good one or not. But this is just my guess.

Surely it's a successful safety if it's not followed by a pot, it's unsuccessful if it is?
It's a safety if there is an attempt to leave a safe white ball. it's a pot attempt if there is an attempt at position. Shots to nothing are safety shots (because of the white ball) or missed long pots (because position was played).
i don't know, I'm just guessing.
There are no formal rules (as defined within the game) to how stats are formed. The only important statistic is the score....it's not how, it's how many. It's just chunder to give people something to drone on about.
