I think Ronnie has been working with steve peters to develop a more neutral view of Selby. so it doesn't get in his head in matches. Seems to be working.
A good performance from O'Sullivan, two quick frames after the interval. The beginning of that last frame reminded me of some of the stuff Murphy played at the Masters last year. No reason for the break to end as long as there is something potable. It could have been a different story if Selby had taken that 3rd frame though, I still don't know what he was thinking...
I don't want to underestimate the other players still left in this tournament, but I strongly suspect we are about to get our first major final between Robertson and O'Sullivan. About time as well! And before anyone mentions it, no, the travesty that was the 2010 World Open doesn't count.
Does anyone cue straighter than Ding? I don't think so. When you get to see down his cue from the tip end, there is absolutely no lateral movement whatsoever - piston-straight, it is.
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

Oh that would be tasty indeed! Best possible Final for sure...keeping my fingers crossed.
Selby made a huge cock up in frame 3 though, reds all in open play, every colour apart from the black available. He could easily have taken a couple of pinks but opted for blues on a couple of reds (pure miscalculation on his (and Willie Thorne's) side) which meant that it became a black ball frame. Selby missed a long straight black and Ronnie potted a far harder long black to nick the frame.
There were easily enough points on the table for Selby to win without needing the final black and there were several shots where he could have played for pinks instead of blues and he knew it at the end.
From that point there was no stopping Ronnie, and more importantly I think it unsettled Mark, he missed an easier long red to the one he potted in the opening frame after which Ronnie won the frame.
Robertson definitely has the game to beat Ronnie, he reminds me of Hendry sometimes when he is at the table, never looks like missing whereas with Ronnie you never know whether you're going to get a century or for him to miss a straight black off the spot (as he did in this match).
Really enjoying the snooker today, Ronnie definitely favourite with the shorter formats. Always think Selby is more suited to the longer sessions with Ronnie. Think the Rocket is in with a good shout of winning this, that green and blue were majestic
What's with the BBC and the coverage? Is this only live at 7pm for the evening match on Eurosport? Maybe the red button? Their coverage only starts at 9.30pm? Wish they could just show the whole thing! I noticed too that Eurosport for the earlier rounds don't show you other matches when the main one finishes early, you should be able to just watch whichever one to a conclusion.
Hey ho, looking forward to seeing Michael White play, haven't watched him live before
