Thanks Zombieman. So to answer my own question Player A would carry on potting brown, blue etc with NO foul. If he had potted the green without allowing the ref time to re-spot the yellow then FOUL, 4 away, and yellow and green would be re-spotted. Simple.

zombieman states the correct rules covering the respotting of ball and when/when not a strike is made.
Concerning the Miss 3 strikes and out situation with Robbo and ROS; this is not specifically covered in the rules, i.e. the referee NOT giving the warning to the player after the second Miss.
Personally I think Robbo was acting in best interest for ROS, i.e. did not Ronnie to loss the frame without being given the warning; and not with malice in mind.

The closest I feel that may cover this situation, if a referee does not issue a warning when it should have been:
sec 5.1(ii) be free to make a decision in the interests of fair play for any situation not covered adequately by these Rules;
so maybe for fairness, the referee will condone the third miss, but give ROS the warning before the fourth attempt.
Also I think there is possibly a gap in the rules, there is (as mention above, rule 7(a)) said that "a player shall not be held responsible for any mistake by the referee in failing to sport correctly any ball"; maybe there is a case for "a player shall not be held responsible for any mistake by the referee" to be added clearly in the rules?

I always thought Selby would be world champion after the Higgins final, then looked like he'd missed the boat before finally winning it. Not sure he's a multiple world champ though, but I also never thought Ronnie would win another couple so who knows?

If someone had said the same about Bingham winning last year they would have also been laughed off.

I agree, didn't think SB had the bottle to take it. He just seems a bit offish when under the cosh. He is a likeable chap though so I was pleased for him.

Have to admit I missed all the matches apart from the final and Ronnie showed what a class act he is yet again. Robertson had dropped a gear last night which will have made Ronnie's task a lot easier but he still did it in style.

I like the studio analysis and I want to see Dominic Dale getting more involved because it seems like he only appears in the Welsh open. He does look nervous at times but he has a lot of valid points to make and just needs more camera time I think to become more settled. I think he would make a good presenter if he got used to being the anchor.
