Very solid performance by Higgins, if he can keep this kind of form he'll be one of the favourites for the worlds.

Ebdon, 4-3. Robertson had a chance in the decider after Ebdon broke down, but he missed a red to get in, then Ebdon did enough on his next visit. Scrappy match.

Ding and Woollaston have not been any better so far. The first frame took ages, and I think I'm not overstating it if I say it was one of the worst frames you are ever likely to see.
      Thanks man

I don't know about that, he could have withdrawn. Think he is here to win, £100,000 for a few best of 7's is not to be sniffed at. Just think Holt is simply outplaying him in every department.

I find it difficult to believe he's not bothered by the prospect of winning a possible £100,000. And Holt is playing pretty well atm.

Not a knock on Holty at all, he played solid snooker to kead 3-. Just saying Ronnie missed shots he would succeed 100 times on the trot...I'm still convinced this guy is so much above everybody that he likes to challenge himself, like letting his opponent take a 3 nil advantage, on purpose, then try to come back and win. Can sound crazy but I really think he's playing that type of mind games.

Yeah, I suppose you could be right, I wouldn't be too surprised if that were the case, but to let a potential £100,000 slip away with that kind of nonsense would be just daft. Looks like he's found his interest in the match now anyway.

Yes indeed, well played Michael. Must say I never expected a round 1 exit for Ron. Very enjoyable evening of snooker that.

I guess there´s a few players who are delighted that both O´Sullivan and Robertson are out.

Today's Robertson & O'Sullivan losses prove that 'best-of-7' format is a horrible format for top players. It gives opportunities for low-class players.

Yep, they've got to be sharp right from the off, or it can slip away very quickly. And of course, less frames means less chance to even out the luck. But I think Michael deserved his win today, the last frame got quite tactical and in the end he forced the error from Ronnie and then cleaned up with a nice 76 to add to his previous 88 and 119, best I've seen him play for a while.
