Lovely cue action, one of the best ever when he is on it.

    • So, we finally get a couple of longer matches today.

Perry and Bingham have both played well so far, but I think Bingham has more room for improvement than Perry does. They are both capable of scoring strongly, so I expect mistakes to be punished this afternoon, and it should be an open and fluent game. Perry is the only player left in the tournament who has not won a really big tournament yet, at least not a tournament with matches of decent length and a two-session final, while Bingham is of course a proven winner and generally a slightly stronger player. On the other hand, Perry has won the last four matches between the two, and I have a feeling he is playing slightly better than Bingham here. Perry to win 6-5.

I'm particularly looking forward to the evening match between Murphy and Ding. I think Murphy should be favourite. He was relentless against Liang last night, getting in with long pots and scoring heavily. Ding had more trouble with Un-Nooh, but he too impressed with the way he came back from 3-1 down, reminding me of his play under pressure in the 2013/2014 season. He still hasn't reached his top form though, and any weakness will be heavily punished by Murphy, I suspect. On top of that, Murphy has enjoyed a favourable record against Ding over the years. It could be close if Ding plays well, and I hope he does, but I suspect Murphy will be too strong. Murphy to win 6-3.

Should be a good day.

        • Murphy is sheer class. I love watching him play. This match is looking as if it's gona be a stoater. I missed the Bingo game earlier but heard Mac saying on commentary that it was nip and tuck. Is it worth a watch?

Looks like there were a few good breaks there as well, 8 50+s with a few 80-90s. I missed most of it myself but I like a bit of nip'n-tuck so I'll watch it tomorrow morning.

                • A great break from Murphy to go 5 -3 up. He really potted his way out of trouble, despite running out of position several times.

                      • A bit too many misses in that match. In the end the thin cuts cost Ding at least two frames. It could have been a very close match otherwise.

                        • So a Murphy / Bingham final. I wish I could say I was looking forward to it, but I don't like either player. Murphy's smarm and Bingham's woe-is-me despondency aren't the right ingredients for a good final if you ask me.

Got to admit never liked Murphy, and Binghams current slump doesn't bode well for an entertaining match?

                            • Well, it's true that Bingham and Murphy were two of the most disappointing players of the season prior to this week, but it's worth remembering that they gave us one of the best World finals of recent years last May, so I wouldn't be too pessimistic ahead of tomorrow.
