Agreed - he's hanging in there and it'd be great to see him win one more and qualify for the big stage again!

Brecel out, leading 8-5, he went on to lose 5 in the row.... Such a shame, he should have made it. Now it is either Baird or Highfield, rooting for the former.... At least Stevens needs just one more round to make it through once again.

He's been incredibly haphazard since he first broke through, but it seems to be the curse of a few players with early promise - Judd made me wonder what all the fuss was about for years, Brecel wowed me and then disappeared, Michael White looked a ready-made superstar and subsequently barely won a match, ditto Anthony McGill.

At this rate, the top 16 will be much the same people in another 5 years.

Interesting line-up for the final round. It looks like there won't be that many surprises after all. Woollaston, Jones, Selt and Brecel are the only "top" qualifiers who have failed so far.
