Just browse through the last 20 pages or so and you'll find the reasons. The man is painful to watch. He plays dull, ugly snooker, and is constantly looking up at the crowd when he misses or plays a good shot, as though he has some kind of bond and that everyone is rooting for him.
Just listen to the cheer for Ding when he accepts his runner-up cheque, compared to the one for Selby when he takes the trophy. That's all I'm saying. Very unpopular winner, and for good reason.
I think he's looking up at his wife/mates when he does that.

Maybe the ones who don't "hate" him just like snooker of all varieties,
but don't feel the need to let everyone know they don't "hate" him ?
Silent majority and all that ?
Well played Mark, and thanks to both him and Ding for making it a very entertaining final . :snooker:

Can you show us on this doll where it was Selby hurt you
Selby had a good run of the ball all the way thru the final.Ding was definitely the best player over the two weeks.Selby was very poor but had an easy draw.

"You're not standing in my line of sight, but you are standing in my line of thought".
A lot of the reasons are nonsense though, looking up to the crowd (it's the same spot virtually every time to his friends/wife but we'll ignore that I guess) - is that some criminal offence or something?
He may be dull if you're watching snooker just for balls going in pockets but there is A LOT more to the game then that and always will be. You shouldn't even watch snooker if you can't appreciate how Selby utilises his own game to beat two of the greatest break builders the game has seen in O'Sullivan and Ding.
All you need to know is that people decide who they like and who they dislike early on and then they search for reasons to justify that dislike, no matter how irrational.
Anyway, well played mark. Disappointed for ding but he had a great run this year and went some way to amending his mediocre crucible record. Hopefully he takes confidence from this and goes on to win within the next few years.
