I don't even like Ronnie but to see Boring Barry through is incredibly disappointing IMO. I hope Fu can beat him in the next round now. I think Higgins is probably the favourite now? Or maybe Selby. Mark Williams maybe joint 3rd favourite with Ding.

I'd say Higgins is the favorite. He has played very well so far. He may not be as strong as he was, but he can also win with his B-Game and he is mentally very strong. I'm just not sure how fit he is physically.

As a ROS fan, Higgins vs Selby is literally my nightmare final before any tournament lol. It'd be an amazing story if MJW can win another but he doesn't have the game to beat a Higgins or Selby anymore I fear. Meanwhile I think Ding will suffer from burnout. I think I might have to put my semi-realistic hopes on Wilson....

Hawkins played the match of his life, no shame in Ronnie losing, his stats were absolutely top draw, you would never guess Hawkins won that looking through the stats, but as others have said, Hawkins won every 50/50 frame. If Ronnie had won that, it may have been his best ever win under the circumstances, so I hope he takes some pride from the performance.

For the tournament I think Ronnie going out is a good thing as every player (maybe bar McManus) will think they have a chance of winning the title, Selby v Wilson I think will be closer than the 'experts' think as he played really well against Perry. Could be an upset there. Ding maybe now has the best chance of winning the WC in his career, he needs to take this opportunity or it may never happen for him.

How about a McManus fairytale victory? I really don't think he has the game but stranger things have happened. I'd also love to see Mark J lift a third World title. But I actually think Ding is now the favourite. I had a feeling he was going to produce in this Championship and he's the only one of my four pre-tournament tips left (the others being Trump, Ronnie & Robertson). As long as Fu or Hawkins don't win then I wouldn't begrudge anyone else.

I actually like him, but the kid in me who was always a Ronnie fan wants him to be the undisputed number 1 of his generation. If Higgins wins his 5th I can see him winning another after. After all he won 3 in 5 years before his collapse for a few years. I don't see ROS winning another WC so...
