I'm going to be a little controversial now and say I'm glad to see the back of him. I hate his pompous way, he talks of himself in such high regard as though he's one of the greatest ever of the game and comes across as very self righteous.
I hope this will bring him back down to earth with a big bang and he reflects that he needs to cut out the superiority attitude he feels he has over the others and just play the game.
To be fair, and I know what you mean, but he is also one of the most complimentary things to say about other players as well.
So I'm not sure if it's so much a superiority complex as much as a rare general eloquence in snooker!
I used to be undecided on Murphy but over the years I've come down on his side.
What is it with the tables this year. Terrible bounces off the cushions, its making it a complete lottery as to who wins now, the tables are literally deciding the outcome and not the players. Never known it so bad, especially given these are new cloths. You expect it later on in the event, not on the first day, like yesterday, and seems both tables are playing bad today.

did this happen in the days of bce then Riley tables???

Can't really remember as far back as the BCE days because you are going back to 80's and early 90's.
Obviously the Riley tables in the later years did have problems with kicks, but the bounces seem to be more of a problem since the star tables were introduced.
Now, I'm not an expert on tables so I don't know if its down to the construction of the table or not, but I do think that the atmospherics cause these problems more than any other factor. Maybe there is a higher level of humidity in the arena this year. We've seen some events this season where the conditions have been very good. Maybe they just need to adapt the cloth to the arena, if they are experiencing big bounces, surely the table fitters could put a heavier cloth on the cushions and take the pace out.
Good stuff from Mags, looked like he was about to implode at 7 - 3 but managed to hold himself together. Another decider perhaps?
3 - 2 to Ron on the other table I see, and Gilbert with a 56 lead in the 6th, interesting...
