A situation where you could say for once where the referee felt more under pressure during a match than the players themselves.

What Smurfy said was that Judd is adressing the white offcentre when feathering and then correcting on the backswing before he's actually hitting the ball, more ore less unconsciously.
When Judd's in full flow this "technique" will work for him just fine but when he's having a bad day just will come back on him, he went on.
        He's got a point there I think...

I thought he was done when he lost the first of the afternoon, but all credit to Trump and Hendry reckons it could be his time. What about the ref though?

            He needs sacking.

I've been quite vocal in my dislike of him for the last couple of tournaments, because of his general 'slothiness' around the table, but today he proved he's not fit to do the job. It was initially amusing when Liang asked for them to be replaced, but by the end I was screaming at the tv because of the referee's inability to understand that Jud could originally hit the second red behind the pink. Jud was just as much at fault because he wasn't making things clear. He just stood at the baulk end casually pointing his cue at the balls. He needed to come down, point to the red and say, "The edge of this one was sticking out."

He did eventually, and thanks to one of the cameramen, they got the balls (very) roughly back to where they were, but I couldn't believe the ref was on the point of insisting Jud accept the repositioning and play his shot, even though he couldn't see the red he could initially. I wouldn't mind, but Jud even pointed out to the ref that he could hit the red in question BEFORE he'd even played it!!

Where's Le Ball Sack when you need him?

I think the ref is still on a learning-curve...he's not that bad imo.

Now...let's see what Alli and Alan can dish up for us this evening...

Tartan trousers *and* jacket this time around for Alan...rather suave mate!

Damn, they're showing the Perry / Wilson match on the red button, and I can't get Eurosport since downgrading my Sky package. I might have to endure watching it online as I really wanted to see Ali's next match.

You having some personal difficulties daffie?

Joe showing some ungentlemanly annoyance having missed a blue to let Kyren in for a 7 - 6 lead at the interval.
Looking like a late finish this one.

Switched over to this match now as indeed it might provide a tighter end

This is all getting very Frankie Howard isn't it.

That was a gutsy steal from Kyren to take it to 8 - 8.

Possibly (no idea who he is though)

Perry fuming after his missed black. Could go either way this match...still rather very dull without commentary

You don't know who Frankie Howard is? That tells me you're probably still in your twenties... at least.

What was the Carter / McManus match at when you left it, please?

                              It's 4-3 to Carter atm.

Mid 40s and Dutch...which might explain it
