    • Mark Williams is one of my favourite players.... clearly not the player he once was (so inconsistent match to match) but how well did he do to get out of that session 4-4. Holt will be kicking himself he should be at least 5-3 if not 6-2.

      • So how long is the recovery for appendicitis? It won't be the same without DT in the commentary box. Hope he can make it back for the last few days.

Well he was playing terribly wasn't he, but I'm sure he's a LOT happier now, getting out of that session 4 - 4 is a real result for him. Holt will be kicking himself. Going to be very interesting watching how that one works out.

              The fast and the furious,
              The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

              • Really enjoyed the Perry vs Wilson match and thought it was the right result. Both had some luck, but I think Perry's came at the more opportune moments. I agree about Wilson's conduct over the final two frames, but by then Perry had been banging his cue on the floor several times at missed shots, which I won't think is very 'gentleman' like either. If DT is Dennis Taylor and he has appendicitis I wish him well in terms of recovery but sincerely hope it stops him commentating forever. How some of these guys can take the money is staggering considering how lazy and terrible they are at the job.

                • I don't mind JV and DT - but I'm a traditionalist and don't like change! Happy to have them on for a week or two, 3 times a year. If it was every week then I'd probably dislike them I guess.

Davis is king for me though. Hendry's a bit dour and can't seem to empathise with people - not everyone can play snooker like you could Stephen!

I'm hoping they can fit his hospital bed in the commentary box

I was watching Hendry on one of the Crucible Classic shows earlier. A second round match against Jimmy White in 1988. Hendry looked about 12, but hell he was fast, and I'm talking Milkins / Drago fast. There was no pause on his final back stroke, and virtually no thinking time between shots. I suppose when he matured and honed his technique, he slowed down an awful lot, which is probably why his name never crops up when we're talking about quick players, but he was silly fast when he first arrived on the scene.
