Yep.... it is nice that he makes positive comments rather than the usual negative criticism from Virgo....... but he needs to just talk less. Not every shot requires commentary.

      • Blimey, calm down, Peter!

And yes he does chat too much, just like Davis when he's in the CB.

        • Ebdon seemed to like that break of 1 by Holt.

          • His JV impersonation isn't too good either

              • Holt not playing with the same intensity as his R1 match against Robertson.. Does playing against a mate affect state of mentality will to win?

                Thought plz

                • I think these scrappy frames really suit Mark more than Michael. If it were fast flowing play I think Michael would have the edge in break building these days.

I think Mark is quite smart really... always trying to have a laugh and a joke but at the same time trying as hard as possible to beat his opponent. I think it is clearly affecting Michael at the moment.... that and the fact that he should have won the morning session 6-2 and now he finds himself at least 9-7 behind.

Absolute must win frame for Holt.

                    • In any case, Michael should really get the last frame of this session, oherwise I see no way back for him.

                      • Hard to see any way back for Holt. He really blew it in the morning session by not taking advantage of an out of sorts Williams. Did anyone else notice the safety success of 92% for Williams there? So even though he isn't scoring well he still isn't giving Holt a chance to get in and play really.

                        • Shame Michael couldn't make it to 7 it would have set it up nicely for the final session. Mind you I wouldn't be surprised if there was another twist in this one. Really enjoyed it so far.

                          • Marco and Murphy are just plain wrong. Any sort of shot clock in snooker is ridiculous. The problem lies with gutless referees not dealing with deliberate and uncalled for slow play. As mentioned, it's only ever a few players who do this. The same is true of the miss rule. If the referees used some common sense and bottle, the rule would work much better than the disproportionate reward system it presently is.

                            • Difficult to see a way back for Holt - got the feeling that to be 4-4 at the end of the morning having led 3-0 he'd missed the boat. That said we've seen 10-6 margins overcome before and Williams has lost a best of 25 having led 10-6 going into Saturday

                              • Tomorrow's another day, but I think Holt has missed his chance after being 4 - 1 up and now he's 10 - 6 down. Losing 9 of the next 11 frames isn't what you want and especially at the crucible.
