  • Didn't Ronnie mention the other day that he has "stuff going on behind the scenes"? Not sure what that meant.

I personally think 5 WC's is plenty. Hendry and Davis achieved so much, I doubt anyone will ever beat it, but there's no shame in that.

That can't happen as they're in different sides of the draw, but I agree that it wouldn't be an exciting final match.

Well Fu's had 4 days to rest up and Barry looks like he's still recovering from last night's epic conclusion. As Mikey says, he'll probably wake up next session, but if he doesn't manage to get a few frames on the board today, it could be too late. Let's hope he had a nice strong coffee during the interval.

              Hmm, 5 - 0 now.

              • I've always quite liked Fu, I think he is underestimated. Yes he a pretty big weakness in his game with the lack of cue power but everything else is very very solid. He looks to be doing a number on Barry here. I think Barry played his final yesterday.

                      It is
                      Higgins/McManus v Ding/Williams top
                      Fu/Hawkins v Selby/Wilson bottom
Oh good. Well I'll hope either Fu or Ding goes out(probably rather Fu, because Ding seems to be developing a personality)

                      • From heaven to hell......Poor Bazza has been slaughtered this afternoon. Shame really after his great display last night. Now he has a mountain to climb to keep his hopes alive.

On the other table, the Tartan Tussle is well underway and we have a tough tactical battle and scrappy snooker. But that was to be expected between two master tacticians of the game. Higgins looks to be starting to pick up is game a bit more now.

But what the hell has happened with McManus? Some sort of physical problem with his arm/neck?

Btw scrappy match between these two...and not in a good way neither.

I've seen it so many times in single-player sports, where an unfancied player performs out of their skin, upsets a big favourite, and then has nothing in the tank for the next round. Happens in tennis all the time (Rosol beating Nadal at Wimbledon comes to mind).
