The Tartan Tussle is quite a scrappy thing too. Lots of misses on both sides and now with Angles looking to make it 11 all, it's very open. Deep down, I was convinced from the start it would be a very tight match but now, I think angles could go all the way if Higgins doesn't step up a gear...
Meanwhile, Ding is enjoying the length of the battle.......Ton Praram III Series 1 | 58" 18.4oz 9.4mm | ash shaft + 4 splices of Brazilian Rosewood | Grand Cue medium tips

This is truly the biggest shock in the game if McManus was to reach the semi final at 45 years of age. Considering the standard of the players today and the fact he's done very little in the game is remarkable.
All this and the fact he's playing with a new cue that he's not been using long makes it even the more amazing.

Well I'm glad McManus is through.... someone I can support now Williams is out. First time in the semis in over 20 years... that is an incredible achievement. I hope he does himself justice in the next round. Hopefully Fu comes through the other game as well.

I'm stunned, to say the least. Being a huge Higgins fan I'm obviously gutted to see him lose but in the meantime, I really like Alan so I'm delighted to see him through, at 45 years of age. Remarkable performance from the old Scot! He played at a trully high standard all the match and proved once again how a tactical master he is. Incredible to see him in the semis....
Still a stunning defeat for Higgins. Now Ding is clearly THE favorite to win it all. It is his year but Angles will be a tough cookie (should I say scottish shortbrrrread? :P)Ton Praram III Series 1 | 58" 18.4oz 9.4mm | ash shaft + 4 splices of Brazilian Rosewood | Grand Cue medium tips

Very happy for McManus. I didn't get to see much of it as I've been sweating the Fu/Hawkins match. What a story if he made the finals. I want to say that he won't get through Ding, but I would have said that about Higgins.
This is why I love the World Championships and it's long format. There is always an engrossing narrative that develops over the course of the event, no matter what happens.
