why would that happen?
the second time someone has said the near same thing
if no home country player was in the final, I don't see the viewing figures from UK going down, if anything they may go up because both finalist being from elsewhere!
Selby destroys Fu, 16-5, meets Ding in the final, strangles the life out of it, (with a high break of forty six in the first ten frames, )in the most boring final on record, Ding crumbles starts crying and loses 18-12, Selby says he delighted with how he played as he only needed eight chances a frame to win one and his touch to roll in behind a baulk colour after running out of position was world class,Barry Hearn announces snookers dead and is pulling out.

I see your point but I'd say if a Chinese player was in the final, it probably would boost Chinese viewership ... I don't have stats to back it up tho
yep I agree that if Fu or Ding make the final, China viewing figures will increase
and if both - boom!
but not that UK figures will reduce - that is the point I disagree with

It would be good to get an all Asian final and would be a win win situation with regards to viewing figures. The China/Hong Kong viewing figures would be huge and the UK would be OK as well.

Four centuries in eight frames. If Ding can keep that standard up for a few days then, the world crown is his
There is not a chance he will be alowed to if Selby makes the final, he won't and can't stand toe to toe with him, he will drag it out, slow it down, destroy any rhythm, all legitimate tactics and some folk like it but I don't think Ding can take it and for me Selby beats him easily in a bore fest.
Superb opening session from Ding. He played a few bad shots that cost him from 5-0 up, but the start and the finish were great, particularly that frame when he knocked the long red in and made a century when McManus put him back in. Four centuries in the first session... If he wins this match, he will have won eleven more frames. The record for most centuries in a match by a single player is seven, Stephen Hendry in the 1994 UK final, and I think we could see this record broken on Saturday. In fact, I will call it right now, the record will fall.

Well, history doesn't really support this prediction. They have met in two matches over multiple sessions in the past and Ding has won both, the quarter-finals of the 2011 World Championship, as well as the 2012 Welsh Open final.
I really Hope you are right Odrl, Time will tell. It's not that I dont like Selby as a person, seen him interviewed a few times seems a nice lad, I just can't get on with his tactics on the table.
