    • It was to early imo for Alan to take on the red on the cushion. Should have kept it tight and play a good safety instead.

Ah I see misinterpreted your question indeed. Not sure...one of our in-house stats-ies will know I'm sure

The most century breaks in a single game of the World Championship by both players is eight, and was achieved for the first time in the 1999 World Championship semi-final between Hendry and O'Sullivan (four each).[61] It was equalled by Hendry and Peter Ebdon during the 2002 final. This record was tied again by O'Sullivan and Barry Hawkins in the final of the 2013 World Snooker Championship

The overall record in a game of course is 11. In the aforementioned 1994 UK Championship final. While Hendry made 7, Ken Doherty who lost 5-10 made 4 himself.

          • This is in danger of becoming the best snooker I have seen.
Thanks Jim, very good chance it may go here.

            • I was referring to Hendry's individual record, yes, but the record for most centuries in a match could also fall here. Hawkins and Robertson also had eight in their quarter-final last year, apart from those already mentioned. Only a couple more needed here, so I definitely think the record is going.

Cheers for that Jim. Interesting stat. 11 in 15 frames! Wow.

I'm pretty sure Doherty had no centuries in the 1994 UK final.

                    • This is getting nuts...Ding is clearly on another planet since Ponds Forge. He's back at its best.

Funny enough, one mate of mine told me yesterday that he didn't think Ding could go on to win the title because, I quote, "he's not a good enough breakbuilder".......LOL I froze for a sec, starring at him in awe before asking where the hell has he been the last ten years?? Unbelievable...

Ok. You might be right. I found different sources about this.
At one page they say Doherty made 4 at another page it says he made 0.

Well I have never been so offended, think I have jinxed them, missing a few now. Wait there's a decent chance here.

yep no centuries for our fav Irish player in the final, made 6 in the whole tournament
and the 7 by Hendry in that match is the current record for 100s by a single player in a match.
the most 100s in a match by both players is 8 and has been done 5 times and ALL in the WSC!
                                Up the TSF! :snooker:
