    • What a snooker from Ding. Can he capitalise on it?

      • Pretty awful from JV and WT....They really need to change the ammo on the Beeb team. They are getting beaten fair and square by the eurosport team, hands down....

World No. 1 and 5th in the century list with 417, very difficult to get there by just constantly rolling up to the yellow.

Interesting to note that we've got No. 5(Selby), 6(Ding), and 7(Fu) top century break makers in this semi. I was quite surprised to see Fu there with 394.

There has been twenty odd robins in this match, I think we can safely say winter has arived
I don't see this as his B game, every time I watch him he plays this poorly, his cue ball control for the best player in the world is just awful, it's an exception if he plays well not a rule so that makes this standard his normal game.
Again this is not an attack on him, it's frustration watching him, it feels like he's settled, kind of I'm not as good as the others so I will just be negative, has he been to anyone to help him improve? Robertson went to Hendry, Ding went to Nic, then Terry, has Selby even tried?
I think he has a mental block, I saw Shaun Murphy say even as youngsters he couldn't score like the rest of them so retreated into this negative way of playing and for me instead of grabbing the bull by the horns and getting help to improve he's settled for this style of play.
As I say I have nothing against him as a person, he's coming to the club sometime next year and I will be first in the queue for a ticket, I think it will be a great night, he's obviously a great player to get to where he is, but he is just so negative it hurts to watch him.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

If you even need to ask that question you obviously don't know much about mark Selby. You are absolutely correct, Selby does not have as much talent as the robertson's and the murphy's of snooker which is why it is all the more impressive that he has achieved so much and it's a testament to how hard he actually has worked. He plays the game and he quite often wins the game, there is no correct way to play so please save me all the guff about "negative play" being the reason for him winning so many titles.

Well you seem to be in the know, who is he working with?

No idea if he is "working" with anyone. Are you implying that you have to have a coach in order to be a hard worker? You could argue that one of the main reasons to get a coach is so that you have someone that puts pressure on you to work hard. If you don't think Selby "tries", just look at his tactical game and realise that is superior to almost every other player on tour. It can be argued that the robertson's and the murphy's of the game never needed to bother doing that because winning has just came more naturally to them, therefore they haven't had to work as hard as Selby has.
