so what has been happening?
have the TV on but not watching, been doing tidying up, filing of household paperwork, recycling; the only thing I have not done is "watch some racing"
Selby in his usual mode again...and Ding has been missing too much pots. That's about it. Having fun?

Selby won frame 1 with a 91.
Second frame looked to be Dings, but he didn't get in position to yellow from the black after the last red. Selby already needed foul points there, but got them and stole the frame.
In the 3rd frame Ding was in the balls, but missed a red and let Selby in, who scored a 76 to win the frame.
Then Selby made a 120 in the 4th frame to get to 4-0.
Superb play from Selby so far, while Ding lost the focus for one or two moments.

Leicester got a draw with Man U, just in case you miss .....
Worst start possible for Ding....4 nil down, gonna be difficult for him to come back but nothing is impossible. Has to loosen it up though.
Kudos to Selby though, what an animal under pressure...

Selby wins a scrappy frame for 1-0.
Ding makes a decent break to get past snookers required in the second, then plays a poor tactical exchange and manages to lose the frame. 2-0.
Ding has a scoring chance in the third frame, but he breaks down on 40 and Selby clears up. 3-0.
Selby knocks a mid-range red in in the fourth frame, then misses the final pink on the verge of a total clearance. 4-0.
Bad early signs for Ding then, but no reason to panic just yet. After all, Dott led O'Sullivan 5-0 in the 2004 final, before losing 18-8, so if one player is clearly better they can overcome a bad start without major problems.
Edit: The above is largely redundant after JimMalone's post.
This has been an excellent WC this year, but my interest in this final is draining away. That's how irritating Selby is - he doesn't just get to his oppenent, but viewers, too.
I so desperately wanted Ding to win this, and against anyone else I wouldn't be hitting the panic button just yet, but man this is tough to watch.
I really can't stand Selby. He is just so hard to watch, I don't understand why he has such a fan base.
I would have rather seen a Fu vs McManus final, at least that would be competitive. Ding is like a deer in the headlights here. He has got to relax and try to finish this session 5-3 at worst.
Ding lost this final after frame 2. Trust me. Selby horrid to watch, but can't blame him, Ding playing right in to his hands with 3 scrappy frames out of 4

Dott is not Selby and even O'Sullivan couldn't handle Selby in the final when he had a lead. Ding needs something special to get out of this session level or 5-3 down. If it ends up 10-6 or even 9-7 to Selby after the second session then Ding should be happy. it's vitally important that Ding wins the fifth frame after the mid session. If not then I think it's curtains for Ding.

Very good they didn't win the Premiership today...this way they can finish the season in style on Homeground next week. That is if Tottenham wins their match vs Chelsea...

I actually think the 2014 final is a good example of what I am saying. Selby clearly turned out to be the better player in the end, and even a very slow start didn't ruin his chances.
It really would be silly for Ding to panic after 4 frames out of 35. I'd like to think he is stronger than that mentally.
