  • When will commentators learn to shut the *bleep* up when it comes to calling frames as 'safe'. If they'd kept their traps shut we'd be ten minutes into the next frame by now. But no, they were their usual premature selves and decided to put another frame on the scoreboard for Ding, and now look where we are!!

"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

      • IF Ding loses this frame, he will lose the next 2 and the match is over, it's that big a frame

So it's the commentators fault Ding missed the red?

Yes, of course. They tempted fate.

            • Dennis Taylor just said that Ding nearly left a free ball by leaving Selby angled by a foul - that's not right, is it?

              • Can't fault Selby's safety play, incredible snooker angles.

angled by pocket jaw is not a snooker so no freeball option anymore
                    Up the TSF! :snooker:

I can, cos I'm bitter and twisted. I'd have wrapped my cue around Selby's nut by now if I was in Ding's position.

                      • Don't see why not. I think the rule states that if you can't hit a red in a direct line after your opponent fouls, it's a free ball. I don't think it specifies being blocked by a ball, but I could be wrong.

                          • he's the best in the world at that.. I tip the hat I'm not wearing as murray walker might say! I recall him getting 3 or 4 snookers against Hendry at the crucible

Yes, if he was snookered by the pocket.
