  • Great match with Selby and Higgins. BBC hang your head in shame, how could you cut the match in the last frame.

      Onwards with MJW vs O'Sullivan...

It was a gripping match, just a shame about the outcome

      • Well that didn't disappoint did it. I only got to see the last three frames or so but wow, that was one hell of a duel between two of the best tactical players ever. And boy, did they both really want it, JH looked absolutely gutted.

So, Ron and MJW, the stats probably favour ROS but Mark's playing well atm, here's hoping he can do the bizzo, or at the very least not get hammered. :nevreness:
Keeping an eye on Fu v Jones as well of course.

          • It certainly was an entertaining match, but not exactly as high quality as I had hoped. Selby was tremendous in the first three frames, and after that there were only a couple of great single shots from both players, the rest was pretty scrappy.

It was interesting to see Selby basically fall apart in the middle of the match, it doesn't often happen to him. Higgins was clearly nervous towards the end as well though. He was looking for something aggressive to play throughout the deciding frame, and indeed he got a couple of very nice pots, but then he missed every time when he could have put a few points together. He was awful with the rest today and I think that's what lost him the match in the end...

You can never really rule Selby out, but I think he will have to play a little better to beat Murphy, although to be fair, Murphy had an easy game today and wasn't really tested, so we are yet to see him under pressure.

I'm not expecting great matches tonight, but I look forward to being proved wrong.

I know! It's almost as though there's non-snooker fans out there who want to watch other things.

                • Snooker needs to change the seeding system to ensure a more balanced and fair tournament.

Neil Robertson has been awful this season and he is ranked number 7 but because he won the tournament last year he's the number 1 seed.

Selby and Higgins are ranked 1 and 4, respectively and they should not be able to meet in the 1/4.

                    • DT has no clue. The idea that the table is damp is utter rubbish. Any no.10 at 40 degrees will play lovely. It's under hot lights, jeez. Poor excuses because top pros simply can't miss. Sorry pal, Ronnie didn't cue em straight at the back end of frame 2. As for MJW not getting much screw, he didn't get through the ball DT, ya cockwomble.

                        ...there it is...

Thought we had decided on either cheesewomble or cheeseball

Glad it's not just me , I have changed to Eurosport to get away from him. Talking about damp cloths and finger marks and saying that's why they are running out of position, ( by that thinking they would never pot a ball In our club with no heating and an unbrushed table)then two minutes later saying the cloth is that slick and fast, that's why they missed , utter rubbish, they didn't cue right, you can see it, it's obvious.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
