Indeed,I remember matches over the last few years better than the same old same old from new players like Kyren Wilson v Robertson at the UK Championship 2014 or Poomjaeng v Maguire at the Crucible 2013,Sam Craigie v Robertson in the IC a few weeks ago or to a lesser extent Selby v Jamie Jones at the UK last year.

Positive undertones with newer players and refreshing of course.

That some spectators at a venue or on tv might not have heard of them is a little bit neither here or there I think,they probably couldn't name too many players anyway.
