Another new cloth for the final today ? Can I have the old one for our clubs match table as the one on it is two years old, several small tears in it, pockets jaws are worn down, the spots are dipped and every colour kicks out of them. Make a 50 on that and you're some player I tell you.

Funny! A second hand cloth would help. Your table sounds a bit far gone for any help. Higgins only player to get new cloth. All the best.

Expect a great final today. Both players were in good form this week. I think Higgins will prevail 10-8 or 10-7 thanks to his great all around game. With this win he would become number #2 in the world, while Fu has a chance to get to #8.

Just watched the Higgins-Trump semi that I had recorded from earlier. Higgins's mental strength and resolve is astounding but Trump folded. I know he didn't have lots of chances from 5-1 up, but he had enough to close the match out. By the end he was playing not to lose rather than going for the win. That never works and is a sign of mental weakness, a fault of Trump's game. Higgins and Trump have now played five deciders and Higgins has won them all. That tells you everything you need to know. No doubt Higgins will win the final, he was my pick before the start of the tournament due to it being his home venue, but I would absolutely love Fu to beat him.

Well it's all about to start off, sounds like Jimmy and Ronnie heavily favour Higgins to get the job done, I just hope things are level enough to make the evening exciting as it can spoil things in one sided finals. I hope the home crowd make make Higgins feel the pressure a bit during a final and takes the edge off his game from yesterday.

Quite fortunate with that first red to be left on, but he didn't make any mistakes there, going to make Fu a bit nervy should he miss from now on. Will he still go for the half chance long balls early in the frames or be a bit more conservative?

How many times have we seen this in major finals, a Higgins or an O'Sullivan starts really strongly and just breaks his opponent's resolve early on... Fu badly needs a reply in the next frame. :smile:

Best of 17 seems a strange format to use in a two sessioned final, one person can be 8-0 going into the nights session. Would be nice if it was a little longer.
