We've been seeing so much success from players in their 40's recently. When I started watching snooker, players were considered nearly over the hill at 30. I really believe that since every single player on the tour are excellent break builders, experience is the big difference maker these days. I may have to eat my words one day, but I really don't believe we will ever see a teenage ranking event winner again.

Well Done Anthony Hamilton on his First major Ranking Tournament, a well deserved winner, with starting the season on Zero Points and Joint 128th on the main tour at the start of season, and getting back as high as N0 37 in one season from zero points to and also falling off the main tour last season and qualifying through the main tour to regain his tour card and also reaching the semi finals in Nothern Ireland. place he could get both player of the season and most outstanding Achievement of the season at the snooker awards dinner after the World Championships.

wow didn't see it coming at all, what happened in the 2nd session... only saw the last frame of it. Happy for AH, always been regarded as the most talented without a major, dunno who's the nomination for that now. crowd at this tournament is fantastic.

When Anthony Hamilton feathered the cue ball in the last frame in that semi final against Barry Hawkins a few months ago, I thought there was no way back for him. So to win his first major a couple of months later is phenomenal. A top bloke too and a massive well done to him!
