I agree with McManus' comments last night. This is formidable snooker from Hawkins, but it's so flawless it's... dare I say it, dull! I'm sure McManus was joking when he said it, but there's more than an element of truth to it. Hendry said it's dream snooker for him, but that's because he's a player, not a spectator.

Yeah, it's a bit one-sided, great stuff from Baz though. And Ryan pulls another one back with a nice 84....

I've noticed Ryan more than any other player will play the swerve if it's on. I suspect he's not comfortable with cushion escapes.

D'you think that because it's their job, they're immune to the effects of pressure? This was Ryan's chance to win £100,000 and his first ever ranking tournament, do you not see the pressure that would put on him? The very best can miss the simplest of shots because of what this game does to your mind when under such pressure. They're only human after all, well, most of them anyway.

I think he should go on and win a few more majors now and I think he's in with a shout for the world's this year.

Ryan is his own worst enemy.He makes too many unforced errors. He has to learn to cut out those errors,otherwise,he has no chance of winning a ranking tournament.Maybe he should go and see Terry Griffiths,Terry can sort his mental side out!!

Congratulations to Barry Hawkins on winning the "Grand Prix" today,he deserved it.Onto Cardiff tomorrow!

When Ryan had the chance to go 9-8 I did start to wonder. Barry did what he needed to at the end, and just about held his nerve, but I'm bitterly disappointed for the Welshman.
