What a great fight by Gary Wilson. He laid some nice snookers and got the needed foul points and then effectively stole the frame to be only 4-5 behind after the first session. Great frame, great steal.

Kyren Wilson leads David Grace by the same result.

Liking the look of Gary Wilson. He's got himself together and now looks good.

If he can make a solid start in the next session who knows.

Ronnie doesn't look focused. He knows his form is a little erratic and concentration levels suspect at times. He might need a long session tonight with Steve Peters.

What exactly do you mean by format?

However, here are usually the most important informations:

Anybody thinks McGill can make it close again? If he wins 4 of the 5 first frames and makes it 6-8, Maguire maybe would get nervous.

Not keen on the new evening studio. Looks a bit too cold and formal for my liking.

Although it seems we'll be getting some punditry on the red button/RB channel, which I don't think we've had before, so there's that.

He needs a lot of help from Maguire to stand any chance. I just don't think McGill is a heavy enough scorer or potter to really trouble the very top players. Maguire has schooled him today and its shown he's a few levels below. For me he's one of the weakest top 16 players in a long time.

I don't know. I like his all-around game. I agree though that he has to make another step, right now he is not on the level as the 12 or 13 top players.

And with Maguire now winning the first evening frame, there is no comeback happening.

Agree with cueman here. I thijo mcgill is very overrated and happened to have a good run but thats about it. Maguire whilst has dipped in form is just a better player. There are several players outside the top 16 who i would easily put my money on to beat mcgill or some of the other top 16 players for that matter
