A strong session from Selby in the morning. If you think back to yesterday, Yan Bingtao made a couple of bad mistakes at the wrong times and went behind immediately, but Selby is just the exact opposite. He recognizes the crucial parts of frames and sessions, and he always takes great care to get the best possible result out of it. I think it will be very difficult for Allen to come back at him in the afternoon, but of course not impossible.
Looking forward to the commentary from Hendon and Johnson in the second session, to compensate for having to listen to Studd and Hallett in the morning. I mean, in one of the frames Selby made a 50 break, ran out of position and played a safety, then forced another scoring chance and got over the line on his second visit. Studd said it was "the definition of one-visit snooker", which it quite clearly was not. Those are exactly the kind of stupid platitudes I could do without.
