I think Ronnie played outstanding snooker, however Wilson could have made a better match of it had he took his chances.
he could have been leading in the first session definitely 2-2 at worse.
and even in the evening session the 9th frame again he could have took that. i think he was hitting the balls a tad too hard and was losing position because of it. the yellow in the 9th , he could have played that a lot slower to send the white half way up the side cushion, rather than what he did and hit the knuckle.
but saying that Ronnie didn't miss once he got in and that was the difference .
Nobody can beat Ronnie toe to toe when he's on it and everybody knows it, the only way is to bore the concentration out of him, that's why he played a few loose ones against McGill who's a little slow to say the least.
Wilson plays his own game and doesn't resort to gamesmanship, kudos to him for that, but he must relax a little more and let the talent happen instead of trying to force it.
98% pot success over 17 frames is just unreal, battened down the hatches against storm Brian and rooted to the sofa all weekend, thanks Quest
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair
I don't understand how people can say they enjoy such one sided snooker. I respect how well he played, but it's called a match for a reason.
I'm with you on this point. I much prefer the matches that are close. And in that regard sadly the finals of this season so far were not very great.
But of course O'Sullivan's performance in that final (couldn't see much, but the response is quite clear in this regard) was great.
When Ronnie got in I put the kettle on. It was another frame to him. I use to do that in the 90's with Hendry, hahaha.
What a match up Ronnie v Hendry on the top of the games. I would pick the terminator Hendry, you just never see him make ONE mistake..Again, boring to watch but admirable too..
We know Ronnie likes his few bob I think he will give the 4 wins a proper shot be gr8 to see it happen
Maybe he will, but he needs a lot of luck to get there as well - I was pretty impressed by the idea of a million-pound bonus initially, and then when they said you have to win about 30 matches in a row to win it, it sort of brought it home really.
I also like Eurosport's coverage because Andy Goldstein doesn't treat Ronnie with reverence, so there are some useful questions asked and they acknowledge things like "We already know Ron's got a few million, but he likes cash so he'll be motivated" - you'd never get that on the Beeb.

I think this idea of Hendry never making a mistake is a myth in the same vein as "Ronnie can't lose when his mind is right"
I know for a fact that Hendry made at least one mistake during his career as I played him in a club near Edinburgh way back and I actually won a frame! Neither he or Ronnie win matches without their opponents scoring frames. Everyone is human but on a snooker table these two become almost 'inhuman'. They should be on that new series that just started, Marvel's Inhumans.

Do you mean they never had a whitewash?
Hendry - won 99 matches with a whitewash (and got whitewashed 30 times)
ROS - - won 142 matches with a whitewash (and got whitewashed 18 times)
