  • I guess the praise for Li Hang was a little premature, because the nerves really got to him in the last couple of frames, he missed all kinds of balls he wasn't missing earlier. Still, it's another good run in what has been an excellent season for him so far.

Well played to Ryan Day, a lovely total clearance in the decider. I think he is playing much better under pressure nowadays than when he was at the top of his game, he seems to get through a lot of matches like tonight. He will be favourite in his quarter-final match whoever he plays.

    • The shorter matches certainly add a bit of additional presure and risk to the better players.

Just a theory I thought up.
Pockets seem to be tighter than they were in Belfast though, not many near jaw balls going in. Great cut back black from Day in the last frame decider to split the reds and make the clearance.

        • Is it just me, or does Xiao Gudong's walk on music have his name in it?

          • Hoping Guodong wins this one. Pretty poor quality match but still.

              • I just don't rate Ricky Walden at all.He just never seems to play well.Top 16 player & winner of overseas tournaments I know but he doesn't even look like a professional to me.

I think he has made the most of his abilities. Something's just missing, but three titles, among them the International Championship, surely is quite a good resume, along with two top-8-finishes at the end of a season.
He has had a stretch, where he played pretty good, but the last two years he has troubles with his back. I agree though that he is a player, who can maybe be at the end of the Top 16, if he really is on form, but not Top 10.

                  • Gould misses quite many pots right now. And as this is usually the greatest strength of his game I think it will be difficult for him to win.

                    • Disappointing afternoon... I was completely wrong about the Murphy-Walden match, Walden just couldn't get anywhere near the form he showed in the previous round today. At least Murphy played quite well, so there is still some hope we might actually see some quality snooker at the weekend.

As always I was spot on.

                        • After buying a ticket for every day this week on black Friday i have finally managed to make it for a match.

All nice to watch Ronnie in current flow, win this, the masters and hopefully the WC and be an amazing season for him.

What's the record for most final appearances in a season, guess it's at least 5 for Hendry and Ding.

                            • Wow what kind of start is this from ROS?! He's already in trouble and looked terrible.

Akani is very boring though. Damn.

                              • I reckon this Akani chap is an android. The way he lines his pots up is very weird in a mechanical kind of way.
