This is a pretty common expression used in sport when someone is playing poorly. Why is it disrespectful?

It is to the opponent, it's almost suggesting his achievement so far is like playing no-one. Imagine Hendry's reaction if someone said his greatest victories were because the opponent didn't turn up?

He hasn't lol. Pretty sure he's had chances in every single frame but fluffed it with bad position or a missed pot.

Not exactly the first time Hendry's been disrepectful.

Threaten to shorten the pocket money?

            • I don't think it's necessarily disrespectful from Hendry. If Akani goes on to win this, he will have deserved it completely and all the praise that goes with it, but when you take a cold look at it and ignore the fairy tale, David vs Goliath aspect to the match, ROS had had enough chances to win this comfortably. For all the talk of 'great performance' etc for Akani, if he plays the same tomorrow against a top 20 player and the latter is in decent form, there's a good chance Akani gets beat convincingly.

It's a cold/hard analysis from Hendry and shouldn't take away from the accomplishment for Akani, but it's still true nonetheless.

                • Is it just me or is Ronnie doing his upmost NOT to look impressed by Akani?
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

                  • Ronnie does look tired, does he/is he known for going out partying or drinking during tournaments?

Ronnie getting all the breaks and good luck.
If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???
