  • I don't actually think Murphy could have done much more, Ronnie is like perfection. Having said that, if Ronnie was a small % off his game and Murphy capitalised then he could have put Ronnie under more pressure, the result could have been different. Small margins with big differences

    • None can beat his 147 in 5 minutes and 20 Seconds EVER

      • I honestly just feel privileged to have been alive to see O' Sullivan, Messi and Federer in their prime. I would put them in the same bracket as the three most talented sportsmen I've ever seen (I can't comment on Tiger Woods because I hate golf!). They have all produced a sublime standard that the next generation of players is extremely unlikely to match.

Maybe because Murphy is caught up on sounding reasonable, probably hiding his own personality. O'Sullivan is happy to bear all like a exhibitionist. Two totally different people batting for opposite teams.

            • Top match snooker from Ronnie. 96-97% on the pots, 80% long ones and great safety. The way he switched through the gears from 5 - 5 is just amazing. Sometimes it doesn't quite happen but when it happens it it just unreal. Well done - now the Worlds left :-)

Murf played great btw. Well done.

              • Congratulations to Ronnie O'Sullivan!
When he is calm, concentrated and dedicated to play his best Snooker he is simply the best player. And he was that for such a long time, that is unbelievable and absolutely unique!

                  • Ron is too boring because consistent, there has to be some suspense to make an interesting match

                    • Sorry I didn’t get you. Has anyone broken Ronnie’s record of the fastest 147?

He's been anything but consistent of late!

He's won 3 tournaments, but the way he's played has been massively varied from 100% O'Sullivan almost to 100% Selby :-)

no, the "5min 20sec" maximum was retimed and it was not 5min 20sec but faster, Snooker Scene states that it is now 5min 8secs

I guess it depends on when you time it from though, surely? When he hits his first shot or when he comes to the table.
