It's great to see someone not give up in a situation like that. Trump should watch that video and learn from it. Last night he conceded the 6th frame needing only one snooker. Sometimes he acts like a petulant child.
I can't believe O'Sullivan managed to lose that final frame as well, after all those easy scoring chances. Must be a while since the last time he was whitewashed in a best-of-9 match. I remember him being whitewashed by Graeme Dott in the Malta Cup in 2005, but can't think of any others since...
Well played by Higgins, three centuries and a nice clearance in the last frame. It should be a good game against Neil Robertson tomorrow. I watched Robertson-Xiao earlier and enjoyed it very much, the standard was very high. It was the kind of match Robertson has been losing in recent times, coming up against some really inspired opponents, but today he was able to raise his game and come through.
Couldn't watch it but looking at the scorecards it seems Higgins was scary good. Shame Trump will likely have an easy-ish semi final else the two semi's could both have been amazing.
Interestingly ROS, Trump, Ding and Higgins are all quite close together in the race to the Crucible where obviously you want to be in the top 4 and top 2 if you can. Something to keep an eye on for the remainder of the season, especially as ROS, Trump and I think Ding will be defending champion-points in an event along the way (though the plus side for ROS is that 2 seasons ago he didn't qualify for Germany and was KO'd early of the Grand Prix so should gain there, if he enters).
