I think this match has more to do with Perry than Selby.

If he keeps his head together and doesn't make any mistakes....... Hey ho, leaves black over the pocket....

As above: this match will be lost rather than one ie least mistakes of many, rather than 1 shot Frames.

At least when in the break. But yeah, he lets Perry getting into the balls to easy.

Selby definitely better in these last two frames but he has still gifted Perry massive opportunities. However Perry has given them straight back. Selby needs to play a lot better.

But that is the rock of his B to whichever letter game - and the shot selections have been odd at times. (AS above I have seen a fair few of his matches this season, and China showed tints and hints of his previous levels: ie not a fully fledged return, imho.

Perry is getting worse, though......

Yeah, the safety and tactical game was the one thing where Selby usually had the edge over everybody else (maybe aside from John Higgins) and he could always rely on it. But he can't this season and this can make a huge difference.
As you state he was playing better in Beijing, but not nearwhere at his best.

I think the biggest difference to Selby's top game in this season is that his safety game is significant weaker than it has been during most of the last few years.

Only if he comes out with those Droopy\Deputy Dawg eyes that look like he is on Smack or something, but lose the rest of the session and Perry could play even worse and let him in.....

Perry is not playing that well, he has missed plenty of shots and some poor safety, but Selby is playing woefully, nothing like his normal self. No confidence at all, he looks broken and it might be very hard for him to turn it around.
