Of course it's not O'Sullivan's fault, he can't possibly influence what the other players do. It's just an interesting statistic that someone could reach back-to-back UK finals without meeting a top16 player along the way. :smile:

Just had a look at the draw, under "normal" circumstances O'Sullivan would've faced Murphy or Ding at this stage instead of O'Donnell. Maybe he won't have quite so much jam on it at the Masters ....

If you think about it it really does give you food for thought. But didn't he beat Selby in the last tournament? Or is my memory at fault and was it the last tournament but one? (There are so many that I'm always muddling them up ....)

He did, yes. Just to be clear, when I said back-to-back UK finals, I meant the finals of the UK Championship in 2017 and 2018. :smile:

Scroll back a couple of pages. You're not alone! I actually choose to watch the other match (even though I wanted to watch Allen Vs Maguire) just to escape him. And even that was a short lived relief because they switched to Allen Vs Maguire when coverage of it finished on the main channel.

It's not just that he doesn't shut up, it's that he only talks in statements (presented as if they're facts rather than merely his opinion) and uses that stupid affected manner where the pitch in his voice rises at the end of each sentence.

He is insufferable. Like he is trying too hard with his adopted Clive Everton tone. Worst commentator ever. Dennis barely even said anything, was no doubt wishing Murph would STFU.
