    • Absolute liberty by Higgins there - what on Earth's gotten into him?

      • John Higgins trying his best (or worst) Ding or Trump impersonation with this crazy plant try :-i

        • It's a cliched expression in snooker, but I honestly think Higgins is losing the plot out there.

It's almost like he's said to himself, "Right, John, you've played snooker in the exact same way for the last 27 years. I've had enough, time for some madness."
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

          • I rather get the feeling he's underrating Gilbert and saying to himself: I'll try a few things, maybe I can win this match quickly then.
            That would be extremely worrying.

            • Fantastic red, really unlucky on the black.

              • First Murphy now Dave, seems like a 147 is cursed at the crucible

                • Can't believe it's been 7 years and counting since Hendry's max at the crucible. Longest wait since the wait between Cliff Thorburn and Jimmy White (9 years)

                  1983 - Cliff Thorburn
                  1992 - Jimmy White
                  1995 - Stephen Hendry
                  1997 - Ronnie O'Sullivan
                  2003 - Ronnie O'Sullivan
                  2005 - Mark Williams
                  2008 - Ronnie O'Sullivan
                  2008 - Ali Carter
                  2009 - Stephen Hendry
                  2012 - Stephen Hendry

Plus Rob Milkins 4 in qualifying (Rob Milkins - 2006 - 2012, Gary Wilson 2017 and Lliang Wenbo 2018)

                  • Just looked at Dave's right hand cue grip, he holds it a few inches from the butt end. Looks like he uses a longer cue for his liking.

"What has this playing style ever done for us?!"
                      "4 world titles"
                      "Apart from the world titles."
                      "8 million in prize money"
"Oh yeah, I grant you the prize money"
                      "9 maximums?"
"Oh, well I mean the maximums go without sayin' don't they?!"

But Higgins was playing bad in the second half-session today and Gilbert made the most of it, getting a 5-3 lead.

Exactly. What more does he have to prove?

                            Richie

Class 3 referee, very average player

Ipm start. BBC were overly cautious with the slot they allowed.
